This is fantastic. The music, the dancing, the camera work. Oh I have a big crush on you Canon 5D.
There are definitely moments when I’m on the train or waiting on a particular platform where I feel like I’m immersed in some sort of performance art piece about the apocalypse. These folks just took it to the next level. The dripping water. The yellow, dirty tiles. The metal subway trains pouring into the station. The gas masks. The anonymity. Leni Reifenstahl would love this display of physicality.
I’ve seen dubstep dancing and I suppose this is pretty close to it, but I’ve never seen dancing like this that manipulates the body so drastically. For many, this will be horrific to watch. Many will wonder how or why the general public doesn’t react more when they’re dancing on the train. But ask yourself, how would you react? They command the space. There is nothing you can do. That’s power. For many it will be a turn on. I love the polarization that is sure to take place once this gets into the mainstream a little more. I can only hope that I run into these guys on their next shoot.
You’re looking at the next viral video sensation by the way. I can’t wait to see if these guys get contacted by Good Morning America. I can only hope that they go on in character and freak George Stephanopolous and Robin Roberts the eff out.
